How does your baby sleep?

Updated: Jul 17, 2020

Sleep for the infants is critical for their normal growth and development. For the newborns, it lasts about 16-18 hours a day, and every 1-3 hours, the baby wakes up hungry. You will have to adjust to the upcoming sleepless nights, especially since babies sleep more delicate than adults.

Nutrition and sleep for infants are closely related processes and sleep is largely determined by the feeding. Currently, most pediatricians do not recommend strict adherence to the feeding, which includes breastfeeding every 3 hours with a break of 6 hours at night. The idea of a free feeding /breastfeeding when the baby wants/ is finding more and more fans lately.

From a natural point of view, the newborn baby is inseparable from the mother. When it does not feel her presence and closeness, ie begins to feel scared and starts crying. For the different babies, the problem exists a different extent, but if you do not hold it constantly in your arms every time before bed, this instinct gradually disappears.

Sleep for the babies is the main indicator of health. The baby sleeps until it feels hungry. If it is a sieve but does not sleep, then something is wrong - either from a healthy point of view or in the environment where it sleeps (too wet, dry, hot or cold). As the baby grows, so do the periods of wakefulness.
